Micromax released a brand new smartphone – Yureka – today in India, that comes with great specifications and Cyanogen with a price approximately $140.
This Yureka smartphone it’s a 5.5″ device that will competing with other budget-minded devices available in India, like Xiaomi, OnePlus and Android One devices. Other than the OnePlus One this is the onle smartphone running Cyanogen OS. And to prevent OnePlus to continue sales, Micromax now holds the exclusive rights over Cyanogen in India.
Cyanogen OS 11 is based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, but the update to Lollipop is promised to arrive soon. Cyanogen CEO Kirt McMaster said said “There’s a battle being fought in India, and Cyanogen+Yu, we intend to win that battle.”
Besides the 5.5″ of size, Yureka comes with an HD LCD displaywith Gorilla Glass 3 protection. This is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 615, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. This is a dual SIM device that allows 3G and Cat. 4 LTE cards, for download speeds of up to 150Mbps. The Yureca also includes a 13MP Sony Exmor sensor, and a 2,500-mAh battery, in a 154.8 x 78 x 8.8 mm body.
