After the Mi 3 and the Redmi 1S, Xiaomi has launched another device in the India – the Redmi Note. This will be available on December 2 on Flipkart, and will be on the market with two models: 3G dual-SIM version which retails, and a single-SIM 4G version with Indian-specific LTE bands.
The 3G dual-SIM version of the Redmi Note comes with a 5.5-inch 720p display, 1.7 GHz eight-core MediaTek MT6592 SoC, 2 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, microSD slot up to 32 GB, 13 MP back camera and a 5 MP front camera. It also has a 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 3,100 mAh battery. In what concerns to the software, the Redmi Note runs Xiaomi’s MIUI v5 comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The 4G model avoid the MT6592 for the 1.6 GHz Snapdragon 400 SoC, and features 1800 and 2300 MHz LTE bands that will allow the device to work on Indian carrier Airtel’s network. The Redmi Note 4G will be available via Airtel’s flagship stores in six cities all over India.
Registrations for the 3G version of the Redmi Note starts on November 25 at 6 PM IST. The 4G variant will be available later December. Xiaomi said that all customers that buy the Redmi Note will receive a free screen protector and SIM card sleeve.
