Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer that is renowned for bringing great specced smartphones at a very affordable price, launched Mi 4i for the Indian market earlier this year. Mi 4i, which was designed specifically for Indian market, is a mid range device priced at ₹ 12,999. The 16 GB storage was one of the weak points of the device and looks like Xiaomi is going to launch a larger 32 GB variant on July 28th.
A page on the Xiaomi website now shows that the company is planning to launch a 32 GB Mi 4i, with a slightly larger price tag of ₹ 14,999. Xiaomi is planning to hold a sale for the model at 9 AM IST on July 28th. Eager customers can also pre-register themselves on the website. It looks like the smartphone won’t be sold through online retailers like Amazon and FlipKart this time, perhaps due to a limited quantity of stock.
The rest of the Mi 4i’s hardware remains unchanged from the prior launch. The handset features a Snapdraon 615 SoC, 5-inch 1080p JDI display, 2 GB of RAM, a 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera and a 3,120 mAh battery. There’s also dual SIM support, LTE and Android 5.0 Lollipop on board. It will be available in dark grey colour option exclusively.
