Infrared was a feature most cellphones had about a decade ago, and it was used for many reasons, sharing messages or tunes were among the most used ones. This technology hasn’t been used anymore because there is no need for it, and as so, most devices now don’t have that kind of port anymore. Now it seems that a new smartphone will regain the functionality.
News about the Xiaomi Mi 4c were leaked last week and we found that the device will feature USB Type-C connector and that’s scheduled to be revealed in 22nd of September. Is reported to have the new/old infrared port for a security feature.
For specs, this smartphone packs a Snapdragon 808 SoC, and sport a 5-inch 1080p display. It is said to come with 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB memory options, and pack in a 3,080mAh battery. For camera, is said to feature a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter. It’s reported to run the company’s latest MIUI 7 mobile OS. For price, it’s expected to be in the $200-$220 range.
