A new VAIO smartphone has been announced for Japanese carrier b-mobile. The device will be release on March 20th with a 5-inch 1280×720 display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 13-megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. The VAIO device is powered by a 2500mAh battery and Android 5.0. This smartphone will be sold for 51,000 yen ($422) or 4,000 yen ($33) per month with a service plan.
It’s exciting to see a new competitor enter the smartphone market, but that excitement is dampened a bit by the fact that VAIO’s first Android phone appears to be a rebranded version of a Panasonic handset.
