Tank Hero: Laser Wars is an extremely cool, futuristic, military strategy game with loads of action and intelligent enemies. It includes some slick 3D graphics, excellent music and sound effects. It is also massively engaging, highly addictive and virtually unputdownable!

Tank Hero: Laser Wars is an epic round-based blast-em-up, with futuristic tanks. I discovered these games after my kids really got into Tanks! on the Nintendo Wii. By-and-large, the Tank Hero seems to be the best option on Android for something similar. In many ways too, it’s also far better.
If you’ve not encountered these games before, you essentially take on enemies in level after level of battle. By dodging behind walls and objects, always moving and looking to destroy the other tanks on the screen, it’s genuinely frenetic and compulsive gameplaying. Every level is very different from the last, and each includes power-ups and preset barriers. For example, on the Moon world, red barriers can be shot through, but you can’t physically move your tank through the force field. Alternatively, the blue barriers can be driven through by your tank, but they stop fire. On the more industrial Mars, however, you have to wait for barriers to lower in order to get closer to the enemy tanks. Each variant create a different strategy requirement that keeps gameplay fresh and persistently challenging in every level.
There are stacks and stacks of levels across two different worlds. After so many levels you face a boss tank to take out- I think the first is on level 16. These are generally much tougher and include some serious fire power. Your manoeuvrability as a nimble little tank is tested to its limits against these metal behemoths of tanky badness. And don’t forget that this is all rendered in gorgeous 3D and bright neon laser fire!
Tank Hero: Laser Wars is a brilliant game that’s full of breath-taking action and rewarding close-shave survival. With so many levels and gameplay that gets progressively tougher, it’s also massively addictive and includes a powerful ‘one more go’ factor that is very hard to resist. If you like your games explosive, tactical and fast, Tank Hero: Laser Wars is an epically challenging and massively enjoyable game you should definitely try out.
Tank Hero: Laser Wars is loads of fun and, while the levels are for one player, there’s also an awesome 2-player mode via a split screen if you have a tablet (although it also worked fine on my HTC One X). Your device divides top and bottom and instantly throws you into frantic one-on-one blasting action.
Hugely, it’s really hard to out down. Levels zip by quickly to start with, then become harder and more about strategy and tactics than running around blasting everything and hoping for the best.
The visuals are deliriously crisp and full of colour and sharpness. Environments are in lush 3D and look very smooth indeed. Additionally, every explosion and tank blast is resplendent in brilliant little animations which add a whole level of coolness to gameplay.
Accelerometer, Vibration and Sound
The soundtrack is an epic festival of industrial rock that really fits in with the game itself, reminding me a little of Command & Conquer. There are plenty of sound effects too as you blast your way through every enemy in your way.
