It seems that history repeats itself in what concerns to the equipments that overheat with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. Previously there were many reports of users complaining about the overheating of their equipments and some brands have even recognize the problem as the Qualcomm chipset. Although Qualcomm refute these accusations, the brand has made some updates to its SoC so these problems were overcome. A few months later, we have new reports about the heat problem with the new version of Snapdragon 810.
The reports come from China and say that several Sony Xperia Z5 Compact are overheating in such a way that only the touch or even their performance is being greatly affected. In extreme cases, these high temperatures makes the touchscreen to stop working entirely.
So far there wasn’t any reaction either from the Sony or from Qualcomm. We do not know if Sony will do anything to solve this problem. Also it isn’t known if this problem is only punctual or if actually is something with slightly larger proportions. Regardless of all this one thing is noticed no matter how many updates Qualcomm makesto its Snapdragon 810, the tendency for this oveheat doesn’t disappear, even more so when this chipset teams up with smaller devices.
