Motorola is getting a special maintenance update that fixes a problem that causes one-way audio next to emergency dialing on some of their products, containing the first and second-gen Moto X, Nexus 6, Droid Turbo, Moto Maxx/Turbo, Droid Ultra and Moto X Pro.
Motorola says that the trouble increases its ugly head when the user have encrypted phone with “PIN to start” activated attempts to power on the device to place an emergency call using its short-cut option that appears before entering the PIN.
In this situation, the call will be connected, but with audio only in one direction,” Motorola says. “The phone user will be able to hear the dispatcher, but the dispatcher will not be able to hear the phone user.”
Meantime, whose waiting for the update are being warned to either keep their phone turned on, or allow it to fully boot before placing the call.
