As you may know by now, if you read our news daily, Save The Furries is a recent game by HeroCraft in which your goal is to safely guide furry little creatures through hazardous levels in different worlds.
This is a well-known game type, especially recently as we have tested many games that follow this kind of goal through the levels.
As in all HeroCraft games you will start with a small introduction that will show you how to guide the furries to the end of the current level without getting them killed and thus winning.
You will start guiding the furries to safety in the Forest world, where you will have to face 10 levels in order to unlock the Amazonia world and be able to move forward through some other levels and then unlock another world, and so forth.
Throughout the levels you will have to avoid several dangers. In the first levels the dangers you will encounter will be static dangers, like pits and spikes and things like that, and all you need to do is figure out where to put the boxes and tree trunks in order to enable the furries to go through safely.
Some levels into the game you will start encountering other objects that will help you get them to safety like baskets that are secured by huge elastics and allow you to send the furries flying off to wherever you point the basket to. You will also find ropes and other objects that will help you achieve your goals and get the three spaceships in each level.
As the objects improve your capability of making it through a level the dangers will also increase at the same rate. Besides pits and spikes you will also have moving enemies, running around the levels just waiting for you to drop your furries near them. You will also have to worry about flamethrower enemies and time.
In some levels you will have to pay attention immediately once the levels starts because your furries will put themselves in danger in just a few seconds. In these kind of levels you will have to count on being a quick thinker and act quickly as usually the enemies aren’t many, but time is against you.
There is not much to say about controls in Save The Furries, as all you need to do is put your finger on the screen and drag it around to move the object you are selecting.
As in all games nowadays you are presented with a cheerful tune, that plays while you are waiting for the game to load and while you are wondering around the main menu.
The sound effects that happen throughout the levels are pretty funny and definitely liven up the gameplay.
In Save The Furries, a puzzle game, you might expect belittling graphics and poorly designed levels and interface, well you’re wrong.
You will find well-designed levels, which show you exactly what you can and cannot interact with and clearly emphasize them. The furries are also well though of and it is noticeable that a bit of care was taken when designing them, as well as their moving enemies.
Save The Furries is an enjoyable game, and you will get through many levels without even noticing how far you’ve come. Taking that into account it is great that you have 50 levels to get through with increasing difficulty, which also means you will probably get stuck somewhere along the way and will get a bit annoyed with the game. If that happens there is no way of moving forward, as you will not have the ability of bypassing that level, as you have been used to in these kingd of games.
I enjoyed playing Save The Furries, until I got trapped in a level and couldn’t get through. The controls and sound effects are great and you really enjoy going through the levels trying to save the little creatures, but I was disappointed when I couldn’t simply by pass a level like in most games with this scoring method, and that leads me to think that some of the people that will buy the game will probably by annoyed by this at some point in the game, maybe HeroCraft can get us a way around it in order for us to enjoy the whole of the game and not be frustrated we can get past level 14 or 15 with 50 levels available.
All in all a good puzzle game that will keep you entertained for a long time, enjoyable graphics and music. It is available in the Play Store for 1.45€.
