Google’s new Material Design look for apps is a big step up from what we’ve previously seen. Fortunately, they can do that thanks to a ported library of assets from Google, so even older versions of Android can enjoy Material Design.
However devices with older versions of Android can still run apps with UI based on Material design, if the app developer includes a ported library from Google. Apparently, Samsung smartphones may have problems running apps with Material design as they run older versions of the android support library in the framework. The issue is on Samsung’s end, but Koushik Dutta posted up a temporary workaround for developers until something else changes.
Have you experienced some problem like this on your Samsung?
