At the end of last year, Google announced some new features for Android Wear like support for watch face downloads and card dismissal. Now there is a leak of the new details on the features that’ll be included in Android Wear’s next update.
According to this leak the next Android Wear update will include Wi-Fi support, allowing the smartwatches to get notifications and use Google Now without a Bluetooth connection. It seems that Android Wear will have a gesture control feature that’ll let you scroll through alerts and cards by flicking your wrist.
The UI is going to be enhanced too, as you’ll get easier access to Android Wear apps as well as contacts. This will be useful, because right now to get to apps you either have to speak to your watch or dig through an added layer of menus.
These are only rumors for now, so don’t take any of these for granted. But one thing it’s for sure, Google are really trying to improve Wearable experience and now even more with the upcoming release of their new rival, the Apple Watch.
