Since Google revealed Android 5.1 Lollipop to the world by launching it on Android One devices, Android fans have been waiting for news on when the update will arrive for their devices. This new rumor comes from Artem Russakovskii, who refers thar his sources claims that the Lollipop MR1 update (5.1) will first be rolled out to the Nexus 7 2013 before the end of the week, with other devices receiving the update soon after. He also mentioned that Google seemed to be facing issues with battery life on the Android 5.1 Lollipop software, which was causing the rollout to be delayed. Only a few Nexus 7 2013 users can expect to receive it.
The Android 5.1 Lollipop is expected to be the first major update after the initial 5.0 Lollipop releases and brings a number of key improvements. Some of these improvements are new Wi-Fi and Bluetooth toggles in the notification area, new clock animations, different colors for dual-SIM capability, new ‘until next alarm’ mode for interruptions menu, and a few other bug-fixes and improvements. Performance should also see a significant improvement, similar to the improvements seen with the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update earlier.
