Have you already felt that your calendar app doesn’t have everything you need or does not have a very friendly-user interface? In that case we have a suggestion for you: Sunrise Calendar is a calendar app which combines a great interface with a large variety of interconnected apps. Proving that are the apps from the Google Calendar, icloud, Microsoft Exchange, Facebook, Evernote, foursquare, TripIt, Todoist, Trello.
Sunrise already has millions of user, and it’s considered by many as an essential app for planning their daily activities. The Sunrise Company was founded in 2012, and was bought by Microsoft in 2015, for the price of about 87 million euros. But enough with the “small talk”, and let’s go to straight to the point.
To sign up to the Sunrise Calendar you have create an account using your Google account, Facebook account, or an email address. If you don’t sign up, you cannot use the app.
Once you have signed it up, the app will be ready to be used. The calendar is divided in two sections: a traditional calendar on the top and scheduled events on the bottom, as you can see from the picture below.
In order to create a new event all you have to do is push the add button on the up right corner and choose one of the standard options:
- Event title;
- Date of beginning and ending;
- descriptions and set up alert.
It offers the user the opportunity to invite the people who is connected to you as well as add information where events will take place and consult the instructions to get there via Google Maps. This is an interesting functionality for the individuals who have to show up at some place for a meeting someone else has scheduled.
There’s an array of events you can decide to be notified about, such as :
- national holidays;
- religious holidays;
- sports holidays;
- shows aired on Portuguese channels, among other things.
Despite running on the background, there is no noticeable change on the battery performance. So besides helping you to organize your daily schedule, the impact on the battery consumption is not that big.
To sum up, Sunrise Calendar is likely to be the best calendar app for Android devices. Even though you need to sign in to use it, it allows you to register simply using your Facebook or Google account.
