Photographs are becoming increasingly common nowadays. And as a result of cellphones having better cameras, many phone manufacturers compete to offer you a product which will give you the best selfie or the best sunset photo. This is one the advantages of the technological evolution: it became simpler to capture the transitory moments of life so you can remember them later. But the main issue actually is to remember them later.
Usually we take pictures and they are stored on the cell phone or it is stored on a Cloud service, such as Dropbox or Google photos. It’s long gone the habit of developing photos and put them in photo an album to show them to friends later. Nowadays it’s much faster to connect the phone to the TV to show pictures to your friends.
But there will be always somebody who’ll say: “back in my days…” People always try to argue the same points: photos will look better on paper, one can lose their pictures due to Cloud service technical failure, or one can lose everything because the phone was damaged before one had time to upload their pictures to a Cloud. (I confess that the third option is something more like me: storing pictures for months before backing them up.)
For those who are in favor of printed photos, I present you a very interesting appliance: Xsories PIXSPRINT, A portable printer which allows you to print your photographs at any place through a WiFi connection. And all you need is to have the printer connected to a smartphone.
Despite the fact it is a mobile printer, it doesn’t mean it will fit in you trouser’s pockets. With 14.5 x 9.4 x 2.5 cm, an XSories PIXPRINT is capable of printing a photograph in 60 seconds when connected to an Android or IOS device. (60 seconds is the average time; the speed will vary depending on how elaborate is the photo.) Printed photos with a 54x88mm dimensions display a very good images, but it also depends on how good is the cell phone’s camera.
The XSories PIXPRINT app allows you to customize pictures using filters (as in Instagram), to crop pictures, etc. These are just basic functionalities, but they give you the opportunity to add you personality and improve your pictures before printing them.
The battery autonomy is not that good. We can only print 10 pictures. And the battery takes around 1h30 to be fully recharged (i.e. 550mAh).
XSories PIXPRINT is available to be bought at the online Orange Store.
