Pokémon might be the most successful franchise series there’s ever been, with it being known pretty much anywhere in the world. This year, the Pokémon Company is betting heavily on the mobile, with the release of Pokémon Jukebox and Pokémon Shuffle Mobile. As for the next release there’s Pokémon GO, which with just a single trailer, has already gone viral. It’s a title for Android and iOS which was collaborated on by the Pokémon Company, Nintendo, and the well-known Niantic Labs.
The game itself features AR (augmented reality) in which you can be in a world filled with Pokémon which you can fight, capture and trade with other trainers. To enhance the action, there is also the Pokémon GO Plus, a Bluetooth wearable that helps you and alerts you for action going on nearby. It’s not a mandatory purchase, but since there’s not much information about this, we’re unsure on how the game plays while having this device or not.
Regarding this game, Pokémon Company’s president and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara said:
“Our challenge was to develop a great game for smartphone devices that expressed the core values of Pokémon.”
If the game is as good as we are hoping, this will be a game changer, as it can easily become one of the most played games for the mobile. For now, we will have to wait until it comes out in 2016 to see for ourselves. In the meantime, check out the trailer below:
