After a few leaks, Pepsi finally announced its smartphone in China, Pepsi Phone P1s. This smartphone comes equipped with a 5.5 inches curved screen 2.5D (1080 x 1920 pixels), an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 chipset and dido OS based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It comes with an aluminum unibody and a fingerprint sensor on the back. In what concerns to the camera the front one is 5MP, while the rear one is 13MP.
In addition to these specifications the P1s also comes with 4G LTE connectivity , dual SIM support and the second SIM slot can be used as a slot for the microSD card, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a 3000mAh battery.
Pepsi is handling the brand licensing and Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment Co., Ltd will be in charge of the smartphone manufacturing. The standard version of the smartphone is called P1 and the version of China Unicom with FDD-LTE support is called P1s.
The Pepsi Phone P1s is available for orders via the crowdfunding campaign in jd.com in Chine and in three colors: Blue, Gold and Silver. Early bird offer of 499 yuan (Rs. 5170 / US$ 78 approx.) is sold out, but you can still order one at 699 yuan (Rs. 7250 / US$ 110 approx.), which is limited to 1000 orders. If this sells out, there will be another 1000 units up for grabs at 999 yuan, after that it will be available at 1299 yuan till the funding ends. It also comes with a protective cover, USB cable and a charger, and you can also choose the color of the phone when ordering. The company aims to reach the goal of 3,000,000 Yuan (US$ 46,9950 approx.) by December 3rd.
