This weekend we’re sharing with the Android community that the official OnePlus OxygenOS ROM, based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, is finally available to OnePlus One users. This new ROM gives the OnePlus One a sleeker look. So, without further ado, let’s see how to download and install the OxygenOS ROM.
As always, we recommend backing up all your device data and files before starting the process. By installing a new ROM you may lose all of the files in your smartphone.
Step 1. Download the OxygenOS zip file, the OnePlus Feedback app and TWRP for OnePlus One.
Step 2. Turn off your device and boot it up into fastboot mode. You can do this by holding down both the volume up and power buttons. Once you see the logo, connect your OnePlus One to the computer.
Step 3. Go into your terminal window, find the folder where you put the recovery image, launch a command prompt window and run the following commands: “fastboot oem unlock – fastboot flash recovery <recovery.img> – fastboot reboot”
Step 4. Once TWRP is installed, copy the OxygenOS ROM into your OnePlus One.
Step 5. Boot into recovery mode, holding down both the volume down and power buttons. After TWRP starts, wipe data and cache partition.
Step 6. Install oxygenos_1.0.0.flashable.zip from where you saved it on your phone.
Step 7. Tap reboot system to restart your smartphone and there you have it, the OxygenOS ROM is installed.
That’s all for now. We hope everything goes okay while you’re installing the OxygenOS ROM. We expect this ROM will make users’ lives easier, given that it brings the best that Android 5.0 Lollipop has to offer.
