As some of you may know, OnePlus teased us last month saying that they would share more details about their custom OxygenOS Android ROM on the 12th of February, and indeed they did!
OnePlus revealed the official logo for OxygenOS and talked a little more about their plans for the ROM. It will be “clean and streamlined for performance,” says OnePlus with a focus on offering a lightweight experience that will offer good battery life and system efficiency. Thank the Gods OnePlus is thinking about the simple users out there by claiming that the additional features will be “non-obtrusive and extremely useful” like tap-to-wake, which is found in many devices nowadays and customisable Android navigation buttons.
So when should you expect to be able to try this, OnePlus says that there are a lot of certifications that it must go through for its Lollipop based ROM before it can be released, the final build is currently in testing and being the first major software release the company wants to take time to ensure that its ROM is stable.
In order to keep us entertained OnePlus has revealed some details about the OxygenOS team and it seems the group includes important members of the team behind Paranoid Android as well as Android app developers, theme creators and some that used to work at Google and Microsoft.
So tell us, are you looking forward to the OxygenOS as much as we?
