It was known that Nvidia was working on a prequel to the Shield and now, a new benchmark has appeared on AnTuTu that confirms that and brings us more details.
Nvidia Shield 2 will be using the new SoC Tegra K1, this is Nvidia’s latest mobile SoC which borrows its GPU arquitecture from Nvidia’s high-end desktop Kepler design. Is expected to be quad-core version, clocked at 2.5GHz. Also it’s expected to come with 4GB of RAM, an higher display resoltution (1440x810p), Android 4.4.2 KitKat and 16GB of internal storage.
Despite the original Nvidia Shield not succeeded as expected, it had pretty nice features and it’s expected the Shield 2 continues to surprise and we hope to see a brighter future to Nvidia’s Android gaming console.
