Some of Google’s Nexus devices are still waiting for the Android 5.1 rollout, more than a month after the official announcement of the new version, but the Nexus 7 (2013) is starting to go with Android 5.1 out the LTE.
Even though the Nexus 9 has taken over as Google’s reference tablet, the Nexus 7 remains one of the most popular devices among Android fans. Therefore, the Android 5.1 will bring to the Nexus 7 2013 LTE bug fixes, performance improvements, and a handful of UI changes and new features.
To update from Android 5.0.2 (LRX22G) it is only required to run a OTA file, and a factory system image is available, to prevent the data loss from the full-on system refresh, although the safest and easiest way is to wait for the OTA to hit your device on its own.
This update for the Wi-Fi version has also just become available!
