The latest reports are indicating that an alleged Nexus 5 Android 4.4.3 update is currently under testing. It seems that the new firmware is labeled KTU72B and that it will only be available for the latest Nexus smartphone.
LlabTooFeR developer was the first to signal the Android 4.4.3 KTU72B update for Nexus 5. Furthermore, the new build was spotted in a log file that was revealed by the folks at TuttoAndroid.it.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to verify whether the reports are true. Even so, if Android 4.4.3 is indeed under testing it doesn’t necessarily mean that Google will release it anytime soon. For the time being there aren’t many details about the changes brought by the Nexus 5 Android 4.4.3 update, but it might arrive to fix a bug that was affecting the smartphone’s camera. Some Nexus 5 users have reported that the CPU shows abnormal usage after updating to Android 4.4.2. It seems that the problem is generated by mm-qcamera-daemon, therefore the 4.4.3 update might bring a fix for that.
As I was mentioning above, the Android 4.4.3 KTU72B build seems to be a Nexus 5 exclusive, but you shouldn’t be surprised to see it coming to other Nexus devices too. The camera fix might be only one of the improvements and fixes brought by the new firmware update, therefore other devices could take advantage of it.
