Finally, after months of rumors and leaks, Sony makes the Xperia Z4 official. The new top Android smartphone from Sony, the Xperia Z4, offers a body similar to the Xperia Z3, but some new improvements, like the Xperia Z4’s speaker and earpiece have been transferred farther away from the display, and become little openings at the top and bottom of the phone’s face. From Xperia Z3 to Xperia Z4, there’s a shrinking down to 6.9mm thick from 7.3mm.
The Z4 contains a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and a 5.1 megapixel front-facing camera, compared to Z3 which includes a quad-core Snapdragon 801 chip and a 2.2 megapixel front camera. The Z4 internal storage has been doubled to 32GB.
Acording to its full specifications list, the Xperia Z4’s got a 5.2 inch 1920×1080 TRILUMINOS display, and a rear camera with 20.7 megapixel, a 4K video capture and an Exmor RS sensor, and a “Cooking Mode” to take better photos of food. Inside the Z4, there’s a microSD card slot, a 2930mAh battery and Android 5.0. The body has got a metal frame as well as dust and water resistant.
Also, Sony shows today some accessories for Xperia Z4, like a window cover case which defends the phone’s front but still has a window to allow access to the camera and control music, and there’s also a desktop holder to charge your phone.
The Xperia Z4 will be launched in Japan this summer, according to Sony. It will e released in black, white, copper and aqua green. The price isn’t available yet, neither any release plans for the rest of the world.
Looks like Sony have continued its evolution tradition which we’ve seen with the previous Xperia Z flaships. The company uses the Z’s previous design and develops it with tiny design tweaks and also some specification improvements. The Xperia Z4 is unquestionably a good-looking smartphone, and 3GB of RAM and their Snapdragon 810 processor take it to be one of the most highly-specced phones available. The mobile division of Sony, may possibly be on a rough road nowadays, but it looks like Sony isn’t giving up yet.
So, what do you think about the Sony Xperia Z4?
