The Huawei Ascend Mate 7 had just been released and there were already rumors about its successor, the Mate 8. So far the company doesn’t said anything very official, there are just rumors. SAll the information we have so far seems to be oddly mixed with rumors of the Huawei Mate S. But given that the Mate S already has a few weeks on the market, the information that now arrive from GFXBench may well belong to the Ascend Mate 7 successor .
According to this benchmark test, the Huawei device, here named “Huawei NXT-AL10″, comes equipped with a 6-inch screen, which does not deny the rumors that have circulated the news. However, the only information that doesn’t match the previous rumors is related to the screen resolution. Previously it was suggested that the Mate 8 would bring a screen with a QHD resolution, but these GFXBench results show us a FullHD resolution.
In what concerns to the processor, this will be a Kirin 950. This processor will please the users with a performance that promises to be outstanding thanks to a 16nm FinFET production process and a big.LITTLE architecture, with four Cortex-A72 cores running at 2.2 GHz or perhaps even 2.4 GHz and another four Cortex-A53 ones, clocked at 2.0 GHz.
The GPU is the impressive ARM Mali-T880, which should also be joined by an i7 coprocessor and a Tensilica Hi-Fi 4 independent audio chip. The list of GFXBench still refers to a 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage.
In the camera department it was previously suggested that would be a 13MP rear camera but according to this new information iy will be a 16MP with a resolution of 4608 x 3456 pixels. The front camera will be 8MP with a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels (though the values in the image above are little different).
Other specifications include support for dual SIM, one microSD card slot, support for NFC, fingerprint sensor and probably the Force Touch functionality. However, we still have a few more days of waiting until we are sure of this information. Huawei will present the Mate 8 on November 26. It is also expected that the version with 3 GB of RAM reaches the market for € 520 and the version with 4Gb for € 610.
