Samsung’s Galaxy Note and its S-Pen is in opposite to other phablets (or smartphone) currently on the market, has always room for improvement. Users have been asking for is a simple way to handle the S-Pen, especially for when you can only use one hand. Well, seems like Samsung has been listening to you, as a document in the US Patent and Trademark Office shows the OEM’s plans for an ejectable pen in their New Note.
The aplication’s patent form reveals a device just as the Galaxy Note with a pen, that can eject automatically. Nowadays, you’d have to manually eject the pen out of the device to use it, which can be annoying especially when there’s only one hand available. If the product will be approved, the user just has to make a gesture or use the voice control, and the S-Pen wil be ejected.
The technology uses mechanisms and magnets, which seems a bit complicated (and it is), but the bottomline is that those components will work all together to revolutionize the way we use the device and the S-Pen.
The first US patent application was filed back in Q4 2014, so there’s still no report if this was approved and what date they’re looking at to release the device if ever. It’s expected to be announced the Galaxy Note 5 later this year, and hopefully, will be able to use the S-Pen ejectable with the new phablet.
