Last year there was some reports of OnePlus One users having severe touchscreen issues on their devices. In the past few months the company tried sending out a number of software fixes but many users are still complaining that the touchscreen issues doesn’t disappear. A month ago, OnePlus announced that they were working on a permanent fix for this problem and this time it seems that there are some improvements.
The latest CyanogenMod 12.1 nightly that was published on May 15th seems to fix the problem, according to users commenting on various Reddit threads throughout the internet. Here’s just one example from Reddit user liberta0407:
Holy s***. I didn’t realise how bad my screen was until I installed this kernel. I could never type fast as the keyboard would press the wrong letters, wasn’t too noticeable but things just didn’t feel right..
Amazing now though! Let’s see if higher temperatures change anything…
The touchscreen issues supposedly intensified when the device’s temperature rose, so it looks like we’ll need to wait and see for further confirmation.
