Microsoft’s Office Remote Desktop for Android is the new app that is already available at the Play Store. As the name says, it allows the use of the Android device as a “clicker”, with many different interface functions.
The Android device, trough the app, will be connected via Bluetooth to a desktop-based Microsoft Office software. Even though only Office 2013 and 2016 Preview are supported presently, it is expected that the release of Office 2016 will consolidate this technology.
The app will guide you on how to download some required some extension upgrades in the desktop version, in order to connect the devices.
The Office Remote allows the user to move the finger as a virtual laser pointer on the host computer, which can be used to manipulate Excel tables, advance slides or read speaker notes in Powerpoint or use heading functions in Word, among others…
This is an important step against platform wars, and towards the user option to connect multiple devices, along with the recent trend of Office-related Android releases.
Since this functions are, not only, extremely useful but is also unique compared to other apps, just download and try it!
