Struggling to survive on the mobile market, Microsoft decides to turn their faces to a new strategy. It seems like that the development of apps is their newest goal, and they are getting very good on it.
The Microsoft Garage just announced their newest launcher, the Microsoft Arrow, which is now out of beta and ready to be downloaded on the Play Store.
The launcher itself is pretty basic but with cool functions, just like every smart launcher out there. It organizes your apps on your homescreen from the most used one to the one who’s just occupying some space on your phone. The design is very iOSish, including a quick settings tab from the bottom of the screen just like the one you get on iOS. It has pages to make your life easier, a quick and precise overview of your most recent contacts whenever they are contact numbers or emails, a widget page, where you can put all your widgets without making your first page full and sometimes laggy because of them, an events page where you can see all your appointments, birthdays, etc that you have saved, and a multimedia page, where you can easily find all your most recent videos, photos and downloaded apps.
Its not a AOSP like launcher, it’s a launcher for those who need their apps fast and with the speed of an arrow, there isn’t much customization available, the only thing I’ve seen that takes the title of customization, would be the integration with Bing to pull the high definition wallpapers, and that’s it.
To download the new launcher, head over to Google Play Store and check it out.
