One year ago, Xiaomi revealed the Mi Pad 7.9, and the new information seems that Xiaomi’s tablet will be replaced very soon.
The supposed future tablet has some key design elements from Mi Note and Mi Note Pro, that results in a more refined look that his little brother with the all-plastic design.
The front layout is similar to the Mi Pad, with a central earpiece and sensor arrangement, an offset front camera and a Mi logo. An also leaked machined metal frame promises solid build while keeping weight manageable.
Now that earpiece hints at a 3G/LTE version as well, as opposed to the Wi-Fi only first-gen. The report claims that the new version will come with Android 5.0Lollipop out of the box, skinned with the company’s home-brewed MIUI 6 overlay.
