Despite being one of the finest performers in their budget, the first generation phones in the Android One initiative were a failure. The only 2nd generation phone in the Android One series is currently the Lava Pixel V1, which… again, has serious shortcomings like a old SoC, no 4G, laggy OS, horrible camera performances, and yes, it’s overpriced too.
Lava launched another phone, called Lava Pixel V2. Despite the similar names, this is NOT an Android One phone. It’s still a mystery why Lava launched another device, but we will understand soon. Here are the specifications of the Lava Pixel V2 :
- 64 bit 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 Processor
- 2 GB of RAM
- Mali T720 GPU
- 5 inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS Display with Dragon Trail Glass
- 13 Megapixel BSI sensor rear camera, 8 Megapixel BSI sensor front camera with LED flash
- 16 GB in-built storage, expandable upto 32 GB
- 2,500 mAh Battery
- 4G LTE enabled
- Android Lollipop 5.1
Given the specifications, it outperforms the Pixel V1 in every aspect, and is actually cheaper than the Pixel V1. It’s very awkward that Lava is actually challenging it’s partner, Google. How Google will take it is upto them, but the Pixel V1 maybe Lava’s first-and-last android one phone.
So what do you think of the Pixel V2 ? Tell us in the comments
