Previously, Evan Blass of @evleaks fame said that Huawei Nexus will use Snapdragon 820. Evan Blass has a well-deserved reputation for accuracy, but according to chinese analyst, Pan Jiutang, this time Blass’ sources have failed him. Pan Jiutang predicts that next Huawei Nexus will use Snapdragon 810, not 820 like Evan Blass said.
Chinese analyst, Pan Jiutang, posted on his Weibo account the reason why the Huawei Nexus will have a Snapdragon 810 under the hood. According to him, Qualcomm will not be shipping the Snapdragon 820 before December. This means that the first devices to have the new chip inside will not be launched before March 2016. Jiutang says that the Huawei Nexus will be unveiled in November, too early to have the Snapdragon 820 on board.
Pan Jiutang says that the first smartphone to come to market with the Snapdragon 820 will be the Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus. We will have to wait until few months later to see who is right. For the record, Evan Blass says that the Huawei Nexus will have a 5.7-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. Evan Blass also says that the phone will come with a metal body and a fingerprint reader. Both Blass and Jiutang expect the device to ship in this year’s fourth quarter.
