At this year’s CES in Las Vegas, HTC and the company Under Armour announced their partnership and promised to launch products related to fitness at the end of this year. The end of 2015 is approaching and we haven’t seen anything yet of these two companies. So far we only had the information that the new product would be delayed, and today again this information is repeated. If previously the announcement of the new product would only be postponed until the end of the year, this time the product is pushed back to the first quarter of 2016, one year after the first announcement at CES.
There is also a rumor which states that the HTC Grip will actually be canceled by HTC, since the brand decided to launch early next year a fully integrated digital ecosystem of products. The Phandroid decided to question the HTC about this issue, to what the brand said that they are still developing a Connected Fitness platform and will still continue to elevate product offerings.
In this answer, HTC didn’t mention directly the HTC Grip but at least we know that the company is focused on developing wearables. The partnership with Under Armour will be really great to HTC, since the brand already has a few fitness accessories and applications.
