Google doesn’t stop and continues to develop and release new updates to their services and applications. The last update was launched for Google Photos app for Android.
Thanks to this update, this application now have more free space when running out of memory on your device. Running out of space in our smartphone to store our photographs or applications can be quite frustrating and to solve the situation, we have a tendency to uninstall some apps or games.
With applications to occupy more and more space in our smartphone, it’s a great help when the device has a microSD card slot. But some devices do not have this feature and therefore we have to erase some of our applications.
Thinking about this problem, Google developed its app, Google Photos, where you can simply save and make a backup of our photos and videos. With Google Photos new update, if you need more space for your memories you just have to click in “Free up space” below the settings. This step will delete the local copies from the device as long as they’ve been backed up already.
This update will also inform you about the free space that you still have. When the device is running out of memory, the Google Photos sends you a notification and will even help you to remove the backed up photos including those that are older than 30 days.
According to Google’s John Elstone, you can also now downgrade old photos from “Original quality” to “High quality”.
