Back in January when Google shut down the Glass Explorer program, there were many rumors that it was the end of the face-mounted wearable. Despite the fame there were also controversy and privacy concerns from those worried about being recorded at all times.
The Google Glass project is now under the new management of Tony Fadell and it’s been decided that it will be finished behind closed doors. And the project is very much alive. According to chairman Eric Schmidt:
It is a big and very fundamental platform for Google. We ended the Explorer program and the press conflated this into us canceling the whole project, which isn’t true. Google is about taking risks and there’s nothing about adjusting Glass that suggests we’re ending it.
So probably Google Glass will be released sometime soon in a more refined, cheaper state. Are you interested in this Google product?
