Seems that the new Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus have add their dimensions and controls layout revealed because of a protective case. The newly created Obliq Slim Meta case is to hit distributors in a week or two, and will come in 5 different color options – white/silver, black/titanium, black/metallic gold, black/champagne gold and white/champagne gold. But the interesting part is the renders of the cases that accompanies the release.
With these renders and related specs, we know now that the Note 5 will have the dimensions of 153,3 x 76,1 x 7,9 mm. Comparing with the previous version, the Galaxy Note 4 (153,5 x 78,6 x 8,5 mm), the new screen is of the same size, but the overall device is slightly slimmer.
The Galaxy S6 Plus also keeps the same design but with the size of 154,4 x 75,8 x 6,9 mm is even slimmer then the Note 5. It’s estimated to have a 3.000mAh battery, while the Note 5, being a little thicker, will have a 4.100mAh battery. The Note 5 will also have the new S pen.
These images seem to contradict the rumors that this would be the first smartphone to have the new Type-C USB port, although it’s possible for the case company to have created the renders with the last known port type.
This news also denies the possibility of the new Note 5 to have a 5.9 inches 4K screen that as previously been mentioned as a possibility for this device. This was a possible change not widely accepted by the users, who didn’t like the thought of messing with something that’s not broken.
For more updates, we’ll have to wait for an official release announcement that’s guessed to take place in August.
