Fruit Ninja was one of the first games to reach millions of downloads. It stands in the same grounds as Angry Birds, and both are among the best and most played games for the smartphone.
The game is now celebrating it’s 5th anniversary, and what’s a birthday without a gift? Halfbrick Studios, creators of the app, are releasing their biggest update yet, which includes a makeover.
This update includes a new game mode called Festival, where you battle six opponents for the Golden Ember Blade. This blade has the ability to “trap fruit in a fiery blaze and then slice again for epic high scores.” Also in this mode, you can play six mini-games that gives you the chance to win in-game currency, which can be used to buy tickets to the tournament or other bonuses.
With this new makeover, the developers hope to rekindle the flame of old Fruit Ninja players and to catch the attention of people who haven’t played the game. Other games from Halfbrick Studios also received an update to celebrate the anniversary if their big brother. These update include items, weapons, extra levels and new events, like Monster Dash, Jetpack Joyride or the newly released Radical Rappelling, all of them with a Fruit Ninja theme. If you liked the game, it’s a great time to go back to it, happy slicing!
