We have been informed that Nest will be creating their own-branded camera following their purchase of Dropcam, and they will unite all the products together with a multi-functional app. That information looks to have been spoted, if this leak is to be trusted.
What is going to be launched is a very Dropcam-esque camera, but more sleek and slim than previous models. It will have a suction and swiveling base for flexible placement, and there’s a clean nest logo placed firmly below the lens. The camera will use Bluetooth and QR codes for simple pairing (recently FCC appearance confirms Bluetooth), and the ability to support 1080p video streams.
We also are getting a look at the Nest new app, which will be able to control your Thermostat, Protect and Camera from one convenient location. The app don’t show any clues about Nest’s products, but still there’s a chance we could be in for a surprise come June 17th (the scheduled day of the announcement).
