The Facebook version designed to chat with co-workers in a private social network, now has some news. Similar to Messenger, the new Work Chat application allows co-workers to exchange messages individually, participate in group chats, share photos and videos, make voice calls and send stickers.
Facebook at Work has been under test since its announcement in January and now already has several companies, such as Heineken USA. According to Facebook there are already 300 companies that rely on this platform, from small startups to companies like banks, real estate, among others.
Facebook plans to launch this application next year as a freemium service, which will greatly enhance the direct competition with other communication platforms targeted for companies such as Microsoft’s Yammer, Salesforce Chatter and Slack.
However, the latter platform could be the great competition to Facebook, since with the Slack work can be fun and a social. This platform turns out to be even more complete than the Facebook Messenger, since it has integration to a large number of partners, such as Foursquare, Dribble, Dropbox, Google Drive, IFTTT, Twitter, Box, Google Calendar, MailChimp, Trello, Visual Studio, among many others.
The Work Chat application is now available for Android and soon will also be available for iOS, as is still in development. Although already be available for download in the Google Play Store, only companies that are testing Facebook at Work may take advantage of Work Chat.
