Dedicated to keep updated devices on the market, BQ has decided to renew their equipment line launching the new BQ Curie, Edison and Maxwell.
The new equipment line brings several improvements, as was expected, and they aren’t limited to hardware being that software also suffered a big improvement.
When it comes to Software the biggest improvement was the OTA updating system that enables the devices to update automatically and wireless dropping the need of having to make a manual update.
The energy management system was also reviewed and now enables the devices to have longer battery life. The major improvement of the energy management system regards the CPU, now the CPU adjusts itself dynamically to the users requests allowing to save up to 25% of energy in regular use.
The new tablet line brings 4.1 Jelly Bean Android and no preloaded applications besides those that come with the OS. This way BQ does its job keeping the Android OS in its purest form giving the user the best Android experience.

BQ Edison 2 (Wi-Fi and 3G) – has an IPS HD 10.1 inch screen, GPU and CPU optimized to get the greatest performance and a new 8600mAh battery that gets up to 10hours of use. The Edison 2 is recommended by BQ for those who want a great media experience. The back of the device is made out of aluminum that helps dissipate the heat generated on account of long performance use of the device. The 3G version of the device comes with GPS and GLONASS (Russian GPS system), as well as a Compass and a Gyroscope. In order to get the Edison 2 you will need to get rid of 199,90€ for the Wi-Fi version and 249,90€ for the 3G version.

BQ Curie 2 (Wi-Fi and 3G) – it has a IPS HD 8-inch screen, also with optimized GPU and CPU. The greatest novelty of this device is its new eMMC internal memory that takes care of managing the storage autonomously, which in its turn improves the overall performance of the device. The 3G version of the Curie 2 also comes with GPS and GLONASS as well as with a Compass and Gyroscope. The price tags for the Curie 2 are 169,90€ for the Wi-Fi version and 199,90€ for the 3G version.

BQ Maxwell 2 – the Maxwell family, composed by 3 devices, sees them all getting improvements with the launch of this new line. Keeping the 7-inch screen the performance of each device improves significantly thanks to the new CPUs. The BQ Maxwell 2 Lite has a Dual Core Cortex A9 1.6 GHz CPU and a QuadCore Mali 400 GPU that can get up to 400MHz. The BQ Maxwell 2, comes with a new IPS screen and a renewed design based on the functional and practical side of life. It also comes with a new 4300mAh battery that greatly improves battery life, and do not forget GPS and GLONASS connectivity. The BQ Maxwell 2 Plus, has an IPS HD screen, 4300mAh battery, 16GB eMMC internal memory, GPS and GLONASS, Compass and Gyroscope, which make this to be the biggest BQ of the smallest. The price tags on these devices are as follows: 99.90€ for the BQ Maxwell 2 Lite, 119.90€ for the BQ Maxwell 2, and 139.90 for the BQ Maxwell 2 Plus.
