Blue Light Filter is an application for your smartphone that will bring you a lot of benefits, mainly visually. Let us understand why! As it’s already known by everyone, the excessive amount of hours spent in front of a monitor, being a tablet, smartphone or a simple television, is harmful to our seeing abilities. Of all of the existent colours, blue is the more responsible in terms of visual fatigue, caused by the use of the devices above mentioned.
There are many consequences, ranging from a partial loss of vision to its complete loss. Now, we can minimize the effort while using a smartphone or tablet, installing the application Blue Light Filter. What the application offers is the possibility to exclude or reduce blue light in the image transmission, thus decreasing the visual fatigue.
To start using this application, we just need to download it on Google Play, install and start using it. The settings aren’t complex, in fact, they are very simple and intuitive.
We can choose several colour filters, (Yellow, Brown, Red, Black and Natural), several intensities; the user can choose between 0 to 100% and if it wants the filter to initialize automatically or on our command.
I point out that the application must be used on devices that run an Android version superior to the 2.3. This application is very useful and totally recommended for those users that spend a lot of time in the smartphone: reading, playing or exploring applications.
To better understand the impact of the usage of a light filter, below, on the left image we can observe an image with the light filter activated, and on the right an image in which there isn’t any sort of light filter.
The application is quite light, it occupies about 2Mb of memory. As its low battery consumption. Since I tried it, I’ve left the filter permanently enable and I haven’t noticed any change or decrease on my smartphone’s battery life.
In conclusion, I recommend without a doubt using this application, whether by its notorious visual benefits or by the application’s easy use. It’s a simple project but very effective and efficient. I can’t really find any negative aspect, because everything that this application aims to accomplish, it fully achieves it. Give it a try.
