Soon after the initial Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update for Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z1 Compact was made available for download, many owners complained they are experiencing sound issues. Sony promised about a week ago that an OTA update that will address the issue will be released soon and now they delivered.
As you may know the sound bug that was annoying the users was making their devices play sounds through the internal, rather than the external speaker. The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update that is now being pushed to Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z1 Compact owners is labelled 14.3.A.0.757, and replaces the previous KitKat build 14.3.A.0.681.
Just like any other new firmware, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat 14.3.A.0.757 update for Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z1 Compact is being rolled out in stages, meaning that some of you might not be able to download and install it right away.
The folks at Xperia Blog have more information on the regions where then new firmware update is being rolled out. According to them, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Sony Xperia Z1 is live in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, and Sweden, the Sony Xperia Z1 owners can update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat in Russia, France, China, Germany, Israel, Poland, Sweden, Italy, Austria, and Philippines, while the Sony Xperia Z Ultra Android 4.4.2 update is being rolled out in the UK and Germany.

Anyway, it’s also worth checking for the update file manually under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.
